Free will or destiny?

Soul connections come into your life to love you, help you and even hurt you. Is there one that is meant for you, the one true love?
I believe we have soul contracts with other souls that participate in our life to help us learn and flourish along the way.

Of course, these soul connections can vary in strength. Still, our human self form attractions and attachments to particular souls as these connections deepen. We may see this soul as our one true love or a soul mate put on this Earth for us.

Is this destiny at play?

My experience in this matter began when I went to a psychic friend for reading. She kept saying that there was partner energy coming into my life. I have heard this before and even felt it intuitively. Still, those potential partners never lasted, so I took her message with a grain of salt. As the months passed and I went on many crappy dates. I figured that the energy for love coming into my life had gone. C’est la vie. But then I met a guy named Ben, and we got along instantly. We were kindred spirits with attraction, the chemistry just like in movies. I felt that the partner love energy returned and he was my soul mate.
Things were going well for the first three months, then he had an incident at work, and he pulled back from me. I was patient and supportive, but he became distant and non-communicative. I was hurt and confused. I could have sworn this was the partner energy that was supposed to be in my life. The connection was still there, but he wasn’t. My patience and hope faded as the months passed. I sent him one last text to wish him well and let go.

Confused, I went to a spiritual teacher of mine to help me understand what happened. What she said was interesting. She said that there was a soul mate connection with Ben and that he was a potential partner. But it is also about his life journey, and there were just some things within him that were not ready to connect with you, yet. For both of you, the opportunity was there for the soul mate connection to continue, but he chose not to. It was taking him a long time to learn and overcome his fear of relationship.

So, the universe decided to move him along on his journey. They (the universe) will not stop your journey as a sacrifice to someone else’s. You can choose to wait for the other soul to grow and match your connection and vibration, but then you risk not fulfilling your life path.
She urged me not to worry, and they were planning to bring someone else in my life.

“Someone else?” I asked.

“Is there a waiting list ?”

Apparently, there is. There are many soul connections for us, it is our choice (free-will) that makes them our mate.
The soul connection to each is unique, but when two souls choose to be with each other, feels magical. Are they meant for you? Each soul you meet, at the time, is bound to happen. But who stays in your life and for how long is a fate that your free will makes.

I left wondering who was on my waiting list.

We met when I was over dating. I hated the apps and was tired of trying to meet new people. A friend recommended Hinge, a new dating app.
Remember free will? I downloaded it but didn’t sign on.

One day, I was sick and home alone. The boredom drove me to finally set up my profile on Hinge. However, I was quickly frustrated by swiping left and right. I noticed this guy who liked my profile did not have a profile picture. I was about to swipe left, but something nudged me to swipe right. I took a chance, and we matched ! We have been together since. Looks like I found my soulmate.
