The ego never dies but it doesn’t have to grow either
Never truly satisfied. Never ever gone. A battle of the mind and of the heart. The higher road versus the gratification of a current emotion.
The Ego
When doing the right thing becomes so hard that it is a test of your strength and values to do so.
And then the confusion comes…
What is “right”?
Why am I doing this?
What are my intentions?
The Ego
Is it to feel justified? Heard? Validated? All for what?
A satisfaction that may be only temporary in a moment.
And when that moment ends, the emotions still remain.
For some that emotion is a pain, that a “sorry” can never fill.
For others, it is an emptiness that no matter how many words of praise and glory, it can never make you feel good enough.
The Ego
But yet we continue… to make choices that serve the ego. We get caught up in it and we forget that we are more than this yearning.
We forget that the need for anything external will always come back to haunt you.
For true peace, find that voice within and acknowledge it with love, compassion, forgiveness and a welcoming of understanding of what it is trying to teach you in your life.
The Ego
For the ego never die but it doesn’t have to grow either.
